The Mary Raftery Journalism Fund was established by the family and friends of investigative journalist Mary Raftery, who died in January 2012. The aim of the fund is to promote more in-depth investigative coverage of issues close to Mary’s heart and on which she focused her groundbreaking investigative work. The fund offers an opportunity for journalists to carry out detailed investigations into these areas of Irish society and to expose any injustices that might exist. Screening of ‘States of Fear’: The Mary Raftery Journalism Fund, supported by RTÉ, has announced details of a series of screenings and panel discussions that will take place on Saturday, 24th May at the Irish Film Institute(IFI) to mark 15 years since the broadcast of ‘States of Fear’.
