The Mary Raftery Journalism Fund was established by the family and friends of investigative journalist Mary Raftery, who died in January 2012. The aim of the fund is to promote more in-depth investigative coverage of issues close to Mary’s heart and on which she focused her groundbreaking investigative work. The fund offers an opportunity for journalists to carry out detailed investigations into these areas of Irish society and to expose any injustices that might exist. For more information about the fund please visit www.maryrafteryfund.ie/about.

The Mary Raftery Journalism Fund has announced details of a day-long seminar, ‘Are You Sitting Comfortably?’  Documentary Film Making: Ethics. Platforms. Challenges”, taking place Friday, 9th October. Full details of the seminar can be found here. 

Funding Rounds: The 2014 funding round opened on Monday, 24th March 2014. Applicants are invited to submit proposals that seek to serve the public interest. The deadline for applications is Friday, 20th June 2014 at 5pm. For more information on how to apply, please click here.

Screening of ‘States of Fear’: The Mary Raftery Journalism Fund, supported by RTÉ, has announced details of a series of screenings and panel discussions that will take place on Saturday, 24th May at the Irish Film Institute(IFI) to mark 15 years since the broadcast of States of Fear’.
